Outpatient Cardiology Consultation
Outpatient Cardiology Consultation
Your primary care physician may request an outpatient cardiology consultation based on your medical history, recent surgical procedures, or to help diagnose heart disease. A cardiac consultation is an important part of medical treatment.
Because Capital Area Cardiovascular Associates is a private practice, we are able to see new patients within two weeks, and acute visits on the same day. Your heart health is important, and you shouldn't have to wait for a consult. If your primary care physician recommends a cardiac consult, call our office today to request an appointment.
How to Prepare for a Cardiac Consultation
When you are referred to our office, our team will schedule an initial appointment for your consult. During your visit, Dr. Nadar will evaluate your medical history, and perform a thorough medical exam. He may also order diagnostic tests to assess your risk for heart disease. At your visit, be prepared to:
- Share your medical records: Your primary care physician may send over your medical records, however, bring a copy of them with you for discussion. Your medical records provide a history of your health care and give Dr. Nadar insight into your health, including any previously diagnosed heart conditions.
- Discuss your health and symptoms: You know your health the best. Be prepared to share with Dr. Nadar your past medical history and challenges, any information about your family's history with heart disease, details on past medical procedures, and any medications you are taking.
- Be honest about your lifestyle: While some heart and vascular conditions are hereditary, heart health, in general, is linked to your lifestyle. To provide the best plan for treatment, share your lifestyle habits, diet, exercise routine, and even your occupation with Dr. Nadar. Having all of this information helps us provide high-quality care.
We are also available for cardiac consultations if you'd like a second or confirmatory opinion of after a recent diagnosis. Call our office at 223.225.1120 to schedule an appointment at either our Camp Hill, Pa. or Newport, Pa. location.
