Inpatient Hospital Services
Inpatient Hospital Services
Dr. Nadar and the cardiology team at Capital Area Cardiovascular Associates provide inpatient services for patients admitted to Penn State Health Holy Spirit Medical Center. Dr. Nadar will help co-manage patient care with the Penn State Health hospital doctors.
Patients may be admitted for:
- advanced cardiovascular disease
- heart failure
- risk of heart attack
- heart catheterizations with stent placement
- other medical treatments.
Inpatient vs. Outpatient Services
The basic difference between inpatient and outpatient care is that inpatient care requires the patient to stay at least one night in the hospital. During the hospital stay, a team of physicians and nurses monitors your health care and recovery.
Patients admitted to the hospital sometimes have serious, life-threatening conditions, and others are formally admitted for cardiac testing. Depending on the severity of the cardiovascular disease, some patients may stay for a few days, and others a few weeks. As your cardiologist, Dr. Nadar will collaborate with your team of hospital physicians to provide you with the best medical care.
Inpatient services include:
- Pre- and post-operative care
- Cardiac transplant
- Medical management
- Cardiac arrhythmias
- Heart failure
We know a hospital stay can be stressful and scary. Dr. Nadar will explain each procedure during your inpatient hospital care and be available to answer questions during his visits. If you have questions or concerns about your upcoming inpatient hospital stay, contact our office.
